PTK7 Expression in Triple-negative Breast

چکیده
Background: Protein tyrosine kinase-7 (PTK7) plays an important role in cancer. Our aim was to evaluate PTK7 in triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC). Materials and Methods: PTK7 Expression was assessed by immunohistochemistry (IHC) in 133 patients with TNBC. Expression levels were correlated with clinicopathological features and survival, taking chemotherapy into account. Results: Positive PTK7 expression was detected in 28.6% of tumors. In the total population, no significant difference was detected in disease-free survival (DFS) or overall survival (OS) related to PTK7 status. However, in patients treated by chemotherapy, patients with PTK7-negative tumors seemed to have better DFS than those with PTK7-positive tumors, particularly for patients treated with only anthracyclinetherapy drugs. In patients receiving other chemotherapy regimens, PTK7 status had no significant impact on DFS or OS. Conclusion: Our results support earlier findings that PTK7 may be associated with resistance to anthracycline-

PTK 7 Is a Transforming Gene and Prognostic Marker for Breast Cancer and Nodal Metastasis Involvement
Protein Tyrosin Kinase 7 (PTK7) is upregulated in several human cancers; however, its clinical implication in breast cancer (BC) and lymph node (LN) is still unclear. In order to investigate the function of PTK7 in mediating BC cell motility and invasivity, PTK7 expression in BC cell lines was determined. PTK7 signaling in highly invasive breast cancer cells was inhibited by a dominant-negative...
متن کاملComparison of BRCA1 Expression between Triple-Negative and Luminal Breast Tumors
Background: Previous studies have suggested that BRCA1 dysregulation has been shown to have a role in triple-negative phenotypic manifestation. However, differences of BRCA1 expression, as a tumor suppressor gene, have rarely been investigated between luminal and triple-negative breast tumors. Therefore, the present study attempted to compare the BRCA1 expression in triple-negative with lu...
متن کاملThe Relationship Between Fibroblastic Growth Factor Receptor-1 (FGFR1) Gene Amplification in Triple Negative Breast Carcinomas and Clinicopathological Prognostic Factors
Background & Objective: In Triple-Negative Breast Cancers (TNBCs), estrogen receptor (ER), progesterone receptor (PR) and HER2/neu genes are not expressed. Fibroblastic Growth Factor Receptor-1 (FGFR1) gene product is a protein that acts as a receptor of thyrosin kinase. It plays a role in the proliferation, differentiation, and migration of malignant cells. The objective was t...
متن کاملGene Expression Changes in Pomegranate Peel Extract-Treated Triple-Negative Breast Cancer Cells
Background: Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is treated with highly aggressive non-targeted chemotherapies. Safer and more effective therapeutic approaches than those currently in use are needed. Natural pomegranate peel extract (PPE) has recently been found to inhibit breast cancer progression; however, its mechanisms of action remain unclear. We hypothesized that transcriptional chan...
متن کاملAndrogen Receptor Expression and Its Correlation with Clinicopathological Parameters in Iranian Patients with Triple Negative Breast Cancer
Background & Objective: Our knowledge about correlation of androgen receptor expression and clinicopathological properties of triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) patients is inadequate, particularly in the Iranian population. The main aim of the present study was to assess the AR expression in TNBC Iranian patients and evaluate its correlation with their clinicopathological pa...
